Yvonne M. Rubenzer, age 83, passed away at her home in Bloomer on Sunday, February 15, 2025. She was born on June 20, 1942 to Wilfred “Piff” Hebert and Helen (Sickora) Nelson. Yvonne married Joseph “Junior” Rubenzer on January 18, 1958 in Bloomer. Yvonne was the owner operator of Junior’s Bar for 49 years. When she was not at the bar Yvonne loved her family and the comforts of her home. Spending countless hours taking care of her flower garden, doing word searches, crossword puzzles, and collecting dolls and glassware. She was a woman who said what she meant and meant what she said. You always knew where you stood with her. She valued hard work, honest talk and did not believe in sugarcoating things. Her straightforward nature was part of her charm, which earned the respect of many who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter: Debbie Rubenzer; sons: Joseph Rubenzer, Jeffery (Lori) Rubenzer, Michael (Jody) Rubenzer; grandchildren: Bridget Christianson, Brad Anderson, Brannigan Secraw, Bronson Anderson, Joe (Carly) Rubenzer, Nikki (Forest) Clements, Kelli (Matt Solie) Rubenzer, Katie (Zach) Brommer, Kevin Rubenzer, Eric Rubenzer, Emily (Steve) Beaudin, Jake (Faith) Rubenzer, Karly Rubenzer; sisters: Crystal (Chuck) Jasper, Rosalie (Rick) Berg, Mary Ojbway; brothers: Matthew and David (Melissa) Nelson; 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Junior in 1989, sister: Vernetta Clements, brothers: Bruce, Howard, Samuel and Richard Nelson; special friend: Gordy Barthen in 2009
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the White Pine Pavillion in Bloomer with a visitation from 11:00-1:00 at the White Pine. Burial will be in the South Catholic Cemetery. Luncheon will follow the burial at the White Pine. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
