William A. “Bill” Rufledt Jr., age 94, passed away at Mayo Clinic in Bloomer on April, 19, 2021. He was born to William and Fredareka (Boese) Rufledt on May 13, 1926 in the town of Bloomer. Bill grew up on the family farm until he joined the Army which stationed him in Alaska. As Bill would say “three years later I woke up and Lois was there.” They were married on February 12, 1955 in Oklahoma. Bill drove truck for Babbitt Trucking, R and I Blacktop and then was the owner of Bloomer Ag Lime from 1974-2018, working until he could not get into the truck anymore and his son, Charlie, took over for him. From 1981-2016 Bill and Lois spent their winters in Florida. He often said “I had a misspent youth,” but lived a full and wonderful life filled with camping, fishing, traveling, dancing the two step, playing cards, listening to music, going for a drive around the countryside and most of all sharing stories and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Lois (Kressin) Rufledt of Bloomer; son: Charlie (Jennifer) Rufledt of Bloomer; daughters: Brenda (Denny) Carlson of Bloomer, Pam (Russell) Younger of Chippewa Falls, Nancy (Tim) Daube of Hopkins MN; grandchildren: Bobbie (Todd), Matt (Tina), Ray (Desi), J.R., Ben, Billy (Yesi), Zack, Marissa (Kyle), Emily and Aaron; great-grandchildren: Zoey, Neena, Luke, Brianna, Yovi and Aarina, Chloe, Collin, Claire, Abbie, Bryant, Colton, Brody and Cooper; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
He is preceded in death by William and Fredareka; brother: Richard Rufledt, sisters: Elda Buckmaster and Edna Roecker
Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomer at 11:00 AM on Friday April 23, 2021 with visitation from 3:00-7:00PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Thursday, April 22, 2021 Interment will be in the Rufledt Cemetery with Military Honors by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW.
