William Oelig

William G. Oelig, age 89, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Country Terrace in Bloomer. He was born June 10, 1920 in New Auburn to William E. & Ella Mae (Leach) Oelig. He married Irene Paulson on March 29, 1939. William worked as a dairy farmer and enjoyed being around animals, playing cribbage, working puzzles, going to auctions and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter: Marie (Steven) Kirk of Ladysmith; two grandsons: Lucas and Jakeb ; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Irene; brother: Phillip Oelig; sister: Lucy Ann Sharp; special friend: Averil Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Olson Funeral home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be no visitation Monday evening.
