William “Bill” Robert Berg, age 75, of Bloomer, died at home on July 22, 2026, under the loving care of his family and St. Croix Hospice, after a 6-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born on February 9, 1951, to Gilman and Agnes (Everson) Berg. Bill spent his first 10 years on the farm in Hay Creek before settling in at Monkey Doodle Ranch, 1 ¼ miles north of Sand Creek. Bill graduated from Chetek High School in 1969, and went on to attend Eau Claire Technical College earning a degree in Diesel Mechanics.

Bill married Gloria Meinen on September 23, 1978. Together they had two children: Deborah in 1980 and Derrick in 1987. Bill farmed with his father until Gilman's death in 1988. After selling the dairy cows, Bill worked at the Wal Mart Distribution Center in Menomonie until his retirement in 2018.

Bill loved watching the big ships in Duluth, Sprint Car racing, visiting with his buddies in Sand Creek and watching and rewatching his favorite movie "Grumpy Old Men”. Bill also loved scaring people, telling stories and eating circus peanuts. He kept his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye until the end.

Bill is survived by his wife: Gloria Berg; daughter: Deb Berg (David Sabin) of Chippewa Falls; son: Derrick Berg of St. Cloud, MN; sister: Marie Swanson of Sand Creek; and many numerous family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to NF First Inc., the Humane Society of Barron County or the Hospice Support Foundation.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Private burial will be held at Zion Cemetery in Sand Creek.
