Wesley Gont

Wesley Y. Gont, age 89, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He was born September 21, 1919 in Moundsville WV to Charles & Mary (Panchisan) Gont. He married Jean St. Aubin on December 14, 1949 in Milwaukee. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and worked as a machinist for Globe Union. He loved fishing, especially on the Chippewa River, sailing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three sons: Rodney Gont of New Auburn, Paul (Karen) Gont of Jim Falls & Steve (Connie) Gont of Cornell; two daughters: Donna (Fred) Schwierske of Cedarburg & Linda (Steve) Bacsi of Mountain View CA; one brother: Charles (Betty) Gonta of Nashville TN; 8 grandchildren: Jamie, Kelly, Lucas, Arthur, David, Monique, Blair & Kira.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Jean; one sister: Ann; two brothers: Andy & George.

There will be no public visitation or funeral. Private family services will be held at a later date.
