Wayne S. Keniston, age 86, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer. He was born October 9, 1925 in Evanston Illinois to Willis and Florence (Kimball) Keniston. He married Caroline Emma Weeks and together they had five children. On July 17, 1965 he married Nona (Beaumont) Markin in Rockford IL. Wayne served his country in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a machinist for the Beloit Corporation and was also a farmer. He enjoyed playing the games Yatzee and Farkle, visiting with his friends at the Sunshine Café in New Auburn, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son: Russell (Vicki) Keniston of Pillager MN ; four daughters: Wynnecarol Keniston of Eau Claire, Karie (Kenny) Butterfield of New Auburn, Wynnae (Brad) Evans of Chetek and Kellee (Bob) Card of Crestview FL; nine grandchildren: Cate (Andrew) Emerick of Kirkland WA, Albert (Heather) Evans of Chetek, Caroline (Andrew) Schultz of Shell Lake, Russell Keniston II of Mankato MN, Emma Keniston of Pillager MN, Shawn and Meghan Keniston of Wilmington OH, Amanda (Luke) Ebner of New Auburn, Jason (Jen) Butterfield of Chetek, Cowan Geist of New Lisbon WI; nine great-grandchildren: Andrew Emerick, Archer and Kylie Schultz, Kaley Geist, Payten, Lilly and Emilee Keniston, Riley and Austin Ebner,
He was preceded in death by his parents: Willis and Florence; wife: Nona; two sisters: Gladys Lawrence and Marjorie Sperry; one brother: Floyd Keniston; one grandson: Steven Geist; one great-grandson: Ethan Ebner.
A memorial service will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday.
