Wanda L. Stewart

Wanda L. Stewart, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Lake Hallie Memory Care. She was born on April 10, 1929 in the Town of Auburn to William and Lucile (Compeau) Pietz. Wanda married Delbert Stewart on April 25, 1950 in the Town of Auburn and they spent their life together working on the farm and raising their family. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; teaching Sunday school, vacation bible school, and a member of Lutheran Women. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband: Delbert; children: Duane Stewart, Sandra (Edwin) Metcalf, Shelley Swoboda Kent (Yvonne) Stewart, Jay (Brenda) Stewart; grandchildren: Dawn (Nick) Bowden, Heather Stewart, Stacey (Dean) Schemmel, Jenny (Robert) Schutte, Renee (Jamie) Bonjour, Raeann Nargiz, Kevin Stewart, Kayla Stewart, and Jayson Stewart; great-grandchildren: McKenzie Bowden, Roy and John Schemmel, Ryan and Eric Schutte, Easton Bonjour, Evan and Elise Nargiz; step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Kevin, Kyle, and Brittany Michels; sisters-in-law: Vergean Stewart and Beverly Stewart; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: William and Lucile Pietz; infant son: Mark; sister: Carol Dietsche; son-in-law: Francis Swoboda; infant granddaughter: Christie Stewart; niece: Diane Lindsley; brothers-in-law: John, Stephen, and Bruce Stewart, John Richter, and Delmar Windsor; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Richter, and Hazel Windsor; father and mother-in-law: John and Nina Stewart.

Funeral services will be held on at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bloomer. There will be a visitation from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Church before the service. Interment will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
