Verdene Schwab

Largo FL Verdene Schwab, age 84, formerly of Bloomer, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 in Florida. She was born August 22, 1923 in the Town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County, to Melvin & Emilie (Anderl) Boettcher. She married Gilbert F. Schwab on September 27, 1942 at the Tilden Evangelical Church. She worked as the Bloomer Junior High principal’s secretary for numerous years. Verdene was a very active member of the Bloomer United Methodist Church & the United Methodist Women, was the Sunday School Superintendent, UMW treasurer and served on numerous church boards. She was also an active member of the Bloomer Order of the Eastern Star, the Tilden TOPS Club and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed traveling, doing needlework, camping, gardening and spending time with friends & family.

She is survived by two sons: Michael (Heather) Schwab of Shoreview MN & Jeffrey (Debra) Schwab of Hudson WI; four daughters: Judy Schwab of Largo FL, Marlene (Jeffrey) Markon of Superior WI, Deborah (Francis) Ousley of Largo FL & Brenda (John) Haase of Wayne IL; three brothers: Duane (Beverly) Boettcher, Herman (Pat) Boettcher & Byron (Gale) Boettcher, all of Bloomer; one brother-in-law: Pete Redmond of Eau Claire; 9 grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gib & sister: Nilah Redmond.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Bloomer with Pastor Heather Brewer officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 �" 8:00 PM on Friday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tilden Emmanuel Cemetery.
