Stephan “Steve” Bowe, born September 13, 1965, to Ralph and Patricia Bowe from Tilden, Wisconsin, passed away October 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Steve was a devoted husband to Nancy and a proud father to Mitch (Kari) Poirier, Briana (Pat) Lee, and Brooke (Christian) Unger. Above all, one of his greatest joys was being Grandpa to Addyson, Kambree, Easton, Boone, and Everly. His family was a tremendous source of pride and happiness throughout his life.
He is also survived by his brother, Dayton (Kris) Bowe, and sister, Dorothy Potts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Pat Bowe, and brother-in-law, Dave Potts.
Steve was a proud truck driver and took great pride in his work. Hardworking by nature, he was happiest when he was busy and rarely sat still for long. Whether working, fixing something, building a new project, or lending a hand to someone who needed it, Steve was always doing something.
Outside of work, Steve enjoyed camping, biking, woodworking, cutting wood, playing a fiercely competitive game of bags, sitting around a campfire with a cold beer, listening to country music and spending time with family and friends. He had a talent for working with his hands and could usually be found with his trusty companion (his leatherman) on his side, tackling a project, or finding something that needed to be done.
Throughout his battle with cancer, Steve remained true to the hardworking and determined person he had always been. He continued to stay active, help others, and enjoy the people and things that mattered most to him for as long as he was able.
Steve will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, his willingness to help others, and his ability to keep everyone laughing. He leaves behind many memories that his family and friends will carry with them for years to come.
Those who knew Steve know he was never one for a lot of attention or fuss. The best way to honor his memory is simply to spend time with family, share a story and a laugh, play a game of bags, tackle a project, or enjoy an evening around a campfire. He was deeply loved, will be greatly missed, and always remembered.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Horizon’s Bar & Grill in Tilden. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 411 2nd St NW, Rochester, MN 5590. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family with arrangements.
