Obituary for Russell "Rusty" Anderson

Russell “Rusty” Anderson, age 84, passed away at Mayo Clinic in Bloomer on October 20, 2012. He was born on April 19, 1928 in Ladysmith. Rusty served his country as a soldier in the US Army. He married Jeanette Clark on September 25, 1954. Rusty worked for Chippewa Motor Freight as a truck driver for much of his life. He was a member of the Ladysmith VFW and enjoyed spending time in his garden and taking care of his lawn. He was fearless and loved his family very much. Rusty would talk and tell stories with everyone he met. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers and never missed a sporting event that his grandkids where playing in, he loved and cherished his grandchildren very much.

He is survived by his daughter: Joni “Bill” Berres of Colfax; son Thomas (Barbara) Anderson of Eau Claire; sisters: Patricia (Elmer) Balko of Medford and Becky (Russ) Thompson of Exeland; brothers William (Cathy) Anderson of Superior and Don (Selma) Anderson of Cross Plains; grandchildren: Jennifer (Tim) Rudawski, Tony, Andy, and Jackie Berres, and Steve Anderson; great-grandchildren: Payton and Julian Rudawski; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Jeanette; three brothers: Kenneth, Richard and Robert; two sisters: Dorothy and Vivian.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Bloomer Cemetery with the Bloomer American Legion and VFW performing military rites.
