Russel Stearns

Russel J. Stearns, age 65, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Luther Midelfort Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. He was born November 27, 1943 in Rice Lake to Kenneth & Lillian (McClellan) Stearns. He married Rita Drost on August 11, 1966 in Haugen, Wisconsin. He worked as a teacher, guidance counselor and coach for the Bloomer School District. He enjoyed singing with the Dunn County Barbershoppers, hunting, ice fishing, golfing, attending ball games, having breakfast with friends, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Rita of Bloomer; three sons: Roger (Dania) Stearns of Tower City PA, Jeffrey (Tammy) Stearns of Eau Claire & Randy (Janelle) Stearns of Bloomer; one daughter: Jacquelyn (Paul) McGravey of Simsbury CT; one brother: Jerry (Marilyn) Stearns of Ladysmith; three sisters: Donna (Bob) Weber of Rice Lake, Darlene (Bud) Folstad of Rice Lake and Marlene (Ted) Bartels of New Richmond; ten grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one niece: Diane Stearns; numerous aunts & uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Bloomer with Pastor Heather Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 �" 8:00 on Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
