Obituary for Ronald D. Cronin

Claire Ronald D. Cronin, age 82, passed away at his home in Eau Claire on November 20, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1935 in Bloomer to Connie and Magnhild (Evenson) Cronin. Ron proudly served his country in the US Army and after he was discharged he worked as the President of the Laborers Union of Wisconsin. Ron loved being around people, telling stories and making jokes He was an accomplished baseball player in the CRB league for many years playing for Bloomer and Tilden. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, shooting pool, golfing, spending time with his family and friends and the occasional trip to the casino.

He is survived by his children: Mark (Jodie) Cronin, Kim (Dan) Noyes, Tammy (Steve) Larson, Heidi (Mark) Colbert all of Eau Claire; significant other Leanne; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Dalyn and Merlin Cronin; sisters: Leona and infant Olga.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM before the service on Friday. Military Honors will be performed by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW. Online condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
