Romona E. Hurt

Romona “Monie” E. Hurt, age 74, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire on Sunday November 5, 2023.  She was born in Gilman to Leon and Margaret (Hyland) Hartzell. She married John Hurt on July 15, 1967. Romona enjoyed crafting, cross stich, swinging on the front yard swing, tending to her flowers and an occasional trip to the casino.

Romona is survived by her husband: John Hurt of New Auburn; children: Tracy (Stacie) Hurt of Westboro, Tonda (Lloyd) Miller of Bloomer and Laura (Wade) Pittman of Osseo; siblings: Lori (Jerry) Czubakowski, Shelley (Ron) Jerome and Ronald (Mary) Hartzell, son-in law: Steve Hager; former son-in-law: Scott Holloway; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Leon and Margaret Hartzell; daughter: Dawn Hager; sister: Linda Stephens; and parents-in-law: Walter and Delphine Hurt.
