Roger A. Somsen

Roger A. Somsen, age 89, formerly of Bloomer, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, in Ooltewah, TN. He was born in River Falls, WI on May 4, 1931 to Henry and Doris (Wahl) Somsen. Roger married Marilyn A. Dallman, formerly of Bloomer, in 1956 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Roger graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison and the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton. He worked in paper manufacturing for over 30 years in Monroe, Louisiana. After retirement, Roger and Marilyn moved to Orlando, Florida, and later relocated to Tennessee. Roger was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed boating, traveling, working in the yard and reading spy novels.

He is survived by his wife: Marilyn, son: Jon and daughter-in-law: Karen, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father: Henry Somsen of Baldwin, WI; mother: Doris Wahl of Elmwood, WI; sister: Shirley Petska of Bloomer.
