Richard W. Zwiefelhofer, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at home on the farm surrounded by his family.
Richie was born on April 26, 1931, to John B. and Alvina (Pecha) Zwiefelhofer in Cooks Valley, where he attended school until the 8th grade. He was drafted to the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. On May 24, 1955, Richie married Margaret A. Geissler at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden.
For most of his life Richie hauled milk, in the cans and bulk tank. He was always a busy man and loved life on the farm. He enjoyed hunting in Montana, fishing, playing cards with his sisters and spending time with all his family.
He was a member of the Bloomer VFW and St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
Richie is survived by two sons: Rick (Colton Dahl) Zwiefelhofer and Jay (Dana) Zwiefelhofer; five grandchildren: Mason, Addyson, Cobban, Otto and Finn; siblings: Cecilia Michaelis, Dorothy (Gordy) Baier, Bonnie Miller, Karen Zwiefelhofer, Tom (Audrey) Zwiefelhofer and Patricia (Donald) Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Alvina Zwiefelhofer; wife: Margie in 2017; siblings: David Zwiefelhofer, Lawrence Zwiefelhofer, Clifford Zwiefelhofer, Eugene Zwiefelhofer, Janet Sikora and Juanita Grill.
