Richard L. Polanski

Richard L. Polanski, age 84, passed away on September 30, 2025, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Dick was born on March 24, 1941, in Chippewa County to Floyd and Johanna (Petska) Polanski. He honorably served his country in the US Army. On June 6, 1964, Dick married Sharon M. Lacina at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott. Dick worked at various different jobs including road construction crews and Bloomer Plastics. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

Dick is survived by his four children: Brenda (Bruce) Greene of Whitehall, Michael Polanski of Menomonie, Susan Kohls of Cornell and Steven Polanski of Bloomer; and two grandchildren: Andrew and Carter Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Sharon Polanski in 2014; parents: Floyd and Johanna Polanski; and sister: Karen Almgren.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. A memorial service will start at 10:00 AM, on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at Birch Point Resort in Bloomer.
