Richard J. Flackey

Richard J. Flackey, age 80, passed away at Mayo Health System in Bloomer on September 1, 2024. He was born on February 6, 1944 in Chippewa Falls to Joseph and Bertha Flackey. Dick married Betty Konwinski on August 19, 1967. He worked at the paper mill in Cornell for over 25 years. Dick was the king of the cookout, charcoaling chicken, deep frying fish and playing host to his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed all of the great outdoors, but most he loved fishing on the lakes of northern Wisconsin. 

He is survived by his wife: Betty; siblings: Bernard (Barbara) Flackey of Bloomer, Roberta Canfield of Jim Falls and LaVonne (Don)Weese of Chippewa Falls; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Bertha and brother in-law: Lyle Canfield

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
