Richard G. Bauer

Richard G. Bauer, age 81, passed away on July 15, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Barron, Wisconsin.

Rich was born July 29, 1943, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Norman Duane and Doris Eilene (Anderson) Bauer. He grew up in the Chetek area. He married Deanne Constance Schneider on May 2, 1964. They later divorced. On May 11, 1974, Rich married Diana Fischer.

Rich served in the US Air Force from October, 1963 to August, 1967. He got his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying small planes. Rich became a Seventh Day Adventist and spent many happy years studying the Bible and Life of Jesus. He went to Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan to become a teacher in private multi-grade schools, as well as Principal at some of these schools. He received a call to pastor/teach for 4 years on Wrangell Island and Juneau, Alaska. Rich also taught many years in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife: Diana Bauer; children: Sherry (John Stewart) Hansen, Jamie Bauer, Tim (Manda) Bauer; mother: Doris Ganske; grandchildren: Kyja Foster, Jerick Hansen, Leah Hansen, Alanah Hansen, Coty Rossow, Toren Bauer, Emily Klick, Teigan (Will) Bauer; brothers: Dana Bauer, Mark (Michele) Ganske, David (Jen) Ganske, Patty (Tom) Ganske, Sylvia Barrett, Catherine Koenig and Beth Bauer; many other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Norman Bauer; step-father: Mike Ganske; daughter: Lisa Gannigan; and sister: Judy Bauer. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Rice Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1779 20 1/2 St, Rice Lake, WI 54868. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. A light lunch will be served following the service.
