Bloomer

Raymond L. Polanski, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in his sleep, at home in Bloomer.

Raymond was born during a snowstorm on December 19, 1930, in Keystone, WI to Clarence and Mildred (Schroetter) Polanski. On April 18, 1953, Raymond married the love of his life, Charlene L. Gonsolin in Cornell. In 1960, Ray and Charlene moved to their forever home on Lake Como in Bloomer. He worked as a farmer until he moved to town and worked at the Ford garage with Duane Abrahamson. Then they opened P & A Sales, they sold used cars and Raymond did the mechanical work and Pete did the body work. Once P & A Sales closed, Raymond started selling firewood.

You could usually find him in the woods, hunting or cutting down trees. Raymond always loved to hunt. In his younger years when he had a hunting dog, he hunted geese, pheasants, ducks, along with deer and turkeys. This fall, he got a deer and a turkey. He was able to go for his last deer hunt this year with his son and grandson. Raymond also loved fishing off his dock for blue gills in the spring. He will be remembered as a loving husband, great father and awesome grandfather and great grandfather.

Raymond is survived by his daughter: Peggy (Bobby) Heward of Bloomer; son: Robin (Darlene) Polanski of Kemmerer, WY; 8 grandchildren: Christopher (Kristy) Rogers, Joshua (Missi) Rogers, Benjamin (Courtney) Rogers, Daniel (Maria) Irwin, Nicholas (Daphne) Irwin, Jennifer (Gary) Elmore, Alex Polanski and Austin Polanski; 14 great grandchildren: Natalya Winner, Avery Elmore, Kolton Irwin, Kynsie Irwin, Abigail Irwin, Alorna Irwin, Cooper Rogers, Sawyer Rogers, Penelope Rogers, Madison Rogers, Olivia Rogers, Nora Rogers, June Rogers and Olivia Polanski; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Charlene Polanski in 2022; daughter: Polly Rogers; grandchild: Ashlyn Irwin; parents: Clarence and Mildred Polanski; and 2 sisters: Loraine Moucha and Joanne Black.
