Raymond H. Gilberts

Raymond H. Gilberts, age 97, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Lake Hallie Memory Care in Chippewa Falls WI. He was born December 9, 1920 in Sand Creek WI to George and Ida (Harstad) Gilberts. He married Ardith Anderson on January 31, 1942 in Hay River WI. Ray worked as a dairy farmer and he loved being on the farm. His warm smile, quick wit and outgoing personality made him a great Pioneer Seed salesman. He truly enjoyed being around people and especially family functions. He played the keyboard and accordion, and enjoyed shaking dice and playing cards. Later in life he enjoyed gardening but his true joy was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son: Lynn (Teresa Everson) Gilberts of Ridgeland WI; daughters: Joyce (Bill) Gilberts Barten of New Auburn and Judy (John) Hovre of Austin TX; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Ida Gilberts; his wife: Ardith; brothers: Garfield, Alfred, Arthur and Stanley Gilberts; sisters: Agnes Berg, Evelyn Nordhagen and Mabel Bakken

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery in Sand Creek.
