Ralph A. Meinen

Ralph A. Meinen, age 77, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer. He was born February 22, 1937 in Chippewa Falls to Gilbert and Celina (Bernier) Meinen. He married Carlotta Weissinger on June 26, 1999 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. He served his country in the US Army from 1960 – 1962 and worked for 34 years at the Bloomer Hospital as the director of maintenance. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the Bloomer American Legion and served on the Bloomer City Council. He was an avid Viking fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching softball games and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Carlotta of Bloomer; sons: Kevin (Joyce) Meinen of Bloomer and Duane (Linda) Meinen of Brooklyn Park; one brother: Eugene (Mary Beth) Meinen of Bloomer; one sister: Eunice Geissler of Eagle Point; grandchildren: Dana, Kari, Sabra, Jennifer and Melissa.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Gilbert and Celina Meinen; one infant son: Michael; one brother: Claude Meinen and one sister: Donna Sarauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer with military rites performed by the Bloomer VFW and American Legion following the service. A visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 14 from 10:00 AM – 12:45 PM.
