Rachel Ling

Rachel M. Ling age 89, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at her home. She was born December 24, 1920 in Raleigh NC to Elmer and Ella Vay (Turner) Jones. She married Francis Ling on April 24, 1949 in Salem WV. She started a career as a store clerk, but spent most of her life raising and taking care of her family. Rachel was an avid gardener and enjoyed crocheting rugs as well as canning. She loved singing and had a strong faith in God. She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons: Robert (Bilma) Parrish of Sunderland MD and Benjamin (Nancy) Parrish of New Auburn; one daughter: Sharon (Brian) Bannister of Chippewa Falls; three brothers: Leon (Betty) Jones of Hillsbourgh NC, Pelton (Edna) Jones of Hagertonn, MD, Sidney Jones of Durham NC; one sister: Ellen (Bob) Smith of Wooster OH; grandchildren: Rebecca, Robert Jr. & Brian Parrish, Brian (Rebbecca) Gartner, Karen (James) Marcum, Adam (Rebecca) Aerni, Valorie Parrish, Mark Parrish, Michelle (Chris) Coryell, Rachel (John) Farrell, Lena Parrish; great-grandchildren: Jessica Eliason, Emily, Jaydn & Landon Parrish, Ethan Coryell, Owen & Orianna Aerni, Ethan Gartner; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Francis; two daughters: Audrey Vay & Ruthella Gartner; three brothers Stokes, Merle & Paul Jones

Funeral services will be held at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in New Auburn on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at the Duncan Creek Cemetery in the town of Bloomer following the service. There will be a visitation at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 13, 2010 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
