Obituary for Phyllis A. Vetterkind (Dunn)

Phyllis Vetterkind, age, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 30, 1935 to Andy and Lorene (Kiddoo) Dunn. She attended Ling School through the 8th grade, graduated from New Auburn High School in 1953 and attended vocational school in Eau Claire. She married Clifford “Kip” Vetterkind in August of 1954 and they remained married for 59 years until Kip’s passing in 2014. She was hired by Uniroyal in April of 1954 and retired in June of 1985.She served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Town of Sampson from 1985 - 1995 and was on the Citizen's Connect Telephone Board in New Auburn from 1988 - 1995. Phyllis enjoyed quilting, camping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Kip; parents Andy and Lorene Dunn; sister: Jeanette Bell and her beloved pets: CheeChee, Sadie, Mitzi, Nooker and Josie.

The family is very grateful to London Road Dialysis Center and Mayo Hospice for their tender loving care of Phyllis during her medical struggles.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Island Lake Cemetery in the Spring. Online Condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
