Peter R. Prince, age 73, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home in Bloomer. He was born on January 6, 1942 in Cook’s Valley to Joseph Roy and Alphonsina (Meinen) Prince. He married Peggy Anderl on July 25, 1964 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. He earned his Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and worked as a supervisor for 25 years at Uniroyal. He also worked for 19 years at Shadick’s Price Rite and drove cars for Morrie’s Chippewa Valley Mazda in Chippewa Falls. Peter was a gregarious person and loved entertaining people with his humor and stories. He had a generous spirit and felt it was his privilege to help others. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, taking the pontoon for a ride, going to Laughlin but especially spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Peggy of Bloomer; son: Mike (Elizabeth Jordan-Prince) Prince of Shakopee MN; daughters: Patty (Steve) Palecek of Eau Claire and Sheryl (Jared) Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer; grandchildren: Shannon, Connor and Donovan Prince, Alex and Jenna Zwiefelhofer, Matthew and Ashley Palecek.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Alphonsina Prince; twin sons in infancy; sisters: Doris McCarthy and Joan Melgaard; three grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a Christian Wake service at 7:30 PM. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Please direct memorials to Mayo Home Hospice, St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer or the charity of your choice.
