Paul E. Kohls, age 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday October 12, 2016. He was born January 5, 1954 to Melvin and Gloria (Lendl) Kohls. Paul married Becky Littlefield on August 28, 1978 and they recently celebrated their 38th anniversary. Along with Becky, he raised three children, two sons and one daughter. Paul spent his entire adult life doing the only thing he ever wanted to do, be a dairy farmer. He had a unique passion for growing crops and animals. He was a real "Farm MacGyver," give him his welder and he could fix just about anything. And the times he couldn't fix something you would hear his version of 'colorful language' which was still completely G rated. In a nod to the old cowboy shows and movies he enjoyed, he referred to his enterprise as 'Bar-K-Farm'. That was his quirky sense of humor and although he told the same jokes and stories over and over again, they were always funny. He loved spending time with Becky, his children and his grandchildren. He was a genuinely nice person and would always help someone in need. Paul will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Becky of Holcombe; children: Jason (Lindsay) Kohls of Chippewa Falls, Justin (Jennifer) Kohls of La Crosse and Heidi Kohls of Holcombe; two grandchildren: Hunter and Seth; four brothers: Mark (Sheila) Kohls of Elk Mound, Patrick (Thuti) Kohls of Fairbanks AK, Andrew (Milinda) Kohls of Holcombe, Phillip Kohls of Rice Lake; two sisters: Marie (Brian) McMahon of Altoona and Ruth (Jim) Kane of Sheldon; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Gloria Kohls; brother: David Kohls; niece: Melissa Kohls.
A memorial service will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM with a visitation from 11:00 – 1:00.
