Norma Jean Henneman, age 100, of Bloomer, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer, Wisconsin.
Norma was born on November 10, 1925, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to Frank and Katherine (Lacina) Plansky. She attended Bloomer High School and graduated with the Class of 1943. After school, Norma worked as a bookkeeper for seven years for the Soo Line Railroad in Minneapolis.
She moved back to Bloomer and on June 24, 1950, Norma married Norman A. Henneman at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bloomer. She continued working as a bookkeeper at the Bloomer Telephone Company for 30 years, retiring in 1990. Norma and Norman traveled extensively throughout the world, including three African Safaris. One of her fondest memories was visiting her relatives in the Czech Republic. She and Norman also spent considerable time on the North Shore taking in the views and savoring the stillness.
Norma volunteered at the Maplewood Nursing Home, the Hospital Gift Shop and the Senior Citizens Center. She was involved with the Homemakers Club of Chippewa County, enjoyed playing in several card clubs and being a Girl Scout Leader.
Norma is survived by nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Katherine Plansky; and her husband: Norman Henneman in 2001.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, May 1, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, on Friday at the church. Burial will be at the Bloomer Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is in charge of arrangements.
