Norbert R. Ludwigson, age 80, passed away at his home after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. He was born September 27, 1932 in Alma, Wisconsin to Harry and Lorena (Pank) Ludwigson. He married Katherine Pearson on September 29, 1951 in Alma, WI. Norbert worked in a factory in Racine, Wisconsin, and later was a farmer and self-employed milk-hauler. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, farming, going to family events and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Katherine of Bloomer; six sons: Jeffrey (Nancy) of Eau Claire, Rolland (Gayle) of Racine, Bradley (LeAnn) of Aurora CO, Scott (Vicky) of Bloomer, Kevin (Rhonda) of New Auburn and Gary (Bonnie) of Amery; one daughter: Rhonda (David) Berby of Cameron; one brother: Patrick Ludwigson of Bloomer; four sisters: Ruth (Harold) Boese of Bloomer, Jean (Yrs) Myer of Switzerland, Nancy (Dan) Goller of Cornell and Doris Hasse of Elk Horn WI; two sisters-in-law: Eileen and Janice; one uncle: James (Irene) Ludwigson of Eau Claire; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father: Harry Ludwigson; mother: Lorena (Pank) Ludwigson; step-mother: Valborg (Sundstrom) Ludwigson; Brothers: LaVerne, Harold and Harry Ludwigson; Sister: Joan Ludwigson; Brother-in-law: Everette Hasse.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Martin Halom officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, November 16th at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice for the loving care of Norbert.
