Nancy L. Kloss

Nancy L. Kloss, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire WI on Thursday, August 27, 2015. She was born April 1, 1934 in Bruce, WI to Stanley and Margaret (Cotton) Poff. She married Ralph Boehm. They were later divorced and she subsequently married Alvin (Bud) Kloss. Nancy taught for the Bloomer School District for over 30 years and was the forensics coach for most of those years. She enjoyed teaching and was an active member of the teachers union locally and nationally. Nancy, ever the staunch Democrat, loved to talk politics and discuss current events.. She spent many summers at her cabin on Island Lake and loved nothing more than sharing it with her family. She was a proud “Nana”, “Gramma Antsy”, “Mamma” and loved her grandchildren fiercely.
She is survived by her children: Kirk (Sandra) Boehm of Poynette, Nanette (Mark) Harings Boehm of Mondovi and Katy Haug of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son Jay Kloss; husband Alvin Kloss; brother Jasper Poff; sister: Jean Sheehan.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Sacred Heart Hospital 5th floor for their exceptional care and compassion. Thank you to Dr. Reesman for her gentle guidance and compassion through this difficult journey.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 6:30 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer, with a visitation from 4:00-6:30PM at the Funeral Home. Please direct memorials to the Bloomer High School Education Scholarship Fund.
