Nancy Lea (Stoik) Gagnon, aka “Mikey” 82, of Clarkdale Arizona, passed away Aug. 21, 2013. She was born in Bloomer, Wisconsin on February 3, 1931 to Donald and Dorothy (Rufledt) Stoik.
Nancy was raised in Bloomer and graduated Bloomer High School in 1948. She later attended a two year college in Eau Claire where she obtained her degree in Rural Education.
Nancy began working for Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) and that launched her interest in the travel industry. Her clients always had great things to say about Nancy and the wonderful trips she planned for them. Nancy later worked for a few different travel agency firms in Michigan and Florida. She retired from working in the travel industry but not her love of travel. When Nancy moved to Cottonwood she decided to start a new career at Chico’s where she really enjoyed helping others. She was well known for always dressing so sharply in her Chico’s wardrobe.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Dorothy Stoik; first husband Donald Berg and her husband 35 years Donald J. Gagnon Jr.; brother: Frank Stoik of Bloomer; nephew Robert Stoik; great-nephew: Cale Stoik
She is survived by her sister in-law: Audrey Stoik of Bloomer; nieces & nephews: Don (Jane) Stoik of Bloomer, Tony (Sue) Stoik of Bloomer, Mike (Cindy) Stoik of Cathedral City CA, and Jeff (Wendy) Stoik of Eau Claire, Debbie (Pat) Dean of Lake Elmo MN, Barb (Tom) Colosimo of Oakdale MN, Jackie (Brian) Panzer of Marshfield WI and Annie (Lary) Boese of Bloomer
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 with Father John as the Celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring.
