Obituary for Nadine L. Morley

Nadine L. (McCracken) Morley, 89, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at Azura Memory Care Facility in Eau Claire.
Nadine was born September 14, 1925, in New Auburn, WI to Ford and Leila (Henderson) McCracken. She graduated from New Auburn High School in 1943 and married her high school sweetheart, Dale Morley, on August 8, 1944. After Dale’s military service in World War II, they returned to New Auburn where David was born in 1947.
Nadine lived a full and satisfying life. She was an excellent cook and always had freshly baked cookies in the cookie jar. Her spectacular flower gardens on Morley’s corner were known throughout the area. She enjoyed her work as an LPN in several clinics. At the age of 65 Nadine took up golf, and she played competitively for 20 years. Dale’s career in education took them from New Auburn to Hayward, Mondovi, Waukesha, and Eau Claire. In each community Nadine and Dale enjoyed the camaraderie of dear and life- long friends. They camped, bowled, golfed, sang and celebrated with great enthusiasm. The Cottage at Sand Lake was the site for many social gatherings. In 1983, Nadine and Dale retired to the Morley home farm near New Auburn where they welcomed friends and family for twenty years. Nadine thrived on winters spent in Florida where they enjoyed a carefree life with great friends.
The center of Nadine’s life was her devotion to her husband, Dale, and her son, David. She supported them, laughed with them, fed them, kept them in line, and loved them unconditionally.
Nadine is survived by her son David (Janna) Morley of Eau Claire; granddaughter Karin (Mark) Joyce of Northborough, England; grandson Eric (Christina) Morley of Milwaukee; great grandchildren Joey Morley, Ella and Sam Joyce; step grandsons Keil and Kirk Jansen; step great grandsons Andrew and Alex Sanchez. She will be remembered by all of the terrific McCracken and Morley nieces and nephews.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her parents, her brother Eugene (LaRayne) McCracken, and all of the Morley siblings and spouses. She is the last of her generation.
As her health declined and her memory faded, Nadine was given excellent care and support from Real Life Co-op of Eau Claire, Heather Wood Assisted Living, Mayo Health Systems and Hospice, and especially Azura Memory Care Facility. The staff loved her and helped her pass on in peace.
A Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 29, 2015, at New Auburn United Methodist Church. The family will welcome visitors at Olson’s Funeral Home in Bloomer from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 28, 2015, and at the church one hour before the service.
Memorials can be made in Nadine’s honor to New Auburn United Methodist Church, 129 Central St. New Auburn, WI 54757.
