Mona L. Gasper

Mona L. Gasper, age 89, passed away on May 8, 2023 at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer.  She was born January 11, 1934 in La Crosse, WI to Alexander and Nettie (Peterson) Roth.  She married Carl John “Tim” Gasper on November 6, 1954 in La Crosse.  Mona was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church since 1958, Bloomer Garden Club, and a member of the Bloomer Historical Society since 1976 serving as secretary for more than 30 years.  She loved to travel, go to thrift sales and the occasional trip to the casino.  Mona was a very social person and was known as “The Tupperware Lady” in town. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed going to flea markets to sell what she had made along with the antiques she had collected.

 

She is survived by her sons:  John Gasper of Hudson, Roger Gasper of Bloomer, Robert (Patti) Gasper of Chippewa Falls, Richard (Michelle) Gasper of Bloomer, Tom Gasper of Lenexa KS; daughters: Jane (Donald) Stoik of Bloomer and Ramona Gasper of Madison WI; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Alexander and Nettie Roth; husband:  Carl in 2002; brothers:  John, Robert, Alan and Larry Roth; sisters:  Ingre Bressler and Helen Kuehl.

 

Private services will be held at a later date.  Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.  Please direct memorials to the Bloomer Historical Society.
