Michael Sterner

Michael L. Sterner, age 65, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. He was born July 23, 1947 in Norfolk NB to Irvin and Helen (Miller) Sterner. He married Sally Koxlien on December 31, 1965 in Blair WI. Michael worked as a supervisor for 3M Corporation for almost 20 years. He was a member of the Eau Claire Masonic Lodge #212 and was Master of the Bloomer Masonic Lodge # 281. He enjoyed reading, fishing, watching football (especially the Packers), competing in his fantasy football leagues, playing with his pet cat, Garffie, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his father: Irvin of Blair WI; his wife: Sally of Rice Lake; one daughter: Michele (Bradley) Priest of Eau Claire WI; one son: Mark (Paige) Sterner of Magna UT; one brother: Randy (Kathy) Sterner of Hudson WI; two sisters: Patricia (David) Hertzfeldt of Ettrick WI and Kathryn (Dick) Dittner of Black River Falls WI; six grandchildren: Melanie and Kali Priest, Samantha, Victoria, Ryan and Ashleigh Sterner; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Helen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Cremation will take place at the Eau Claire Memorial Crematory with burial of ashes at the Brookside Cemetery in rural Taylor at a later date. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Wednesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a Masonic Service at 8:00 PM.
