Michael T. Parkhurst

Michael T. Parkhurst, age 37, of Cornell, WI passed away on October 2, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Eau Claire after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born on November 12, 1988, in Chippewa Falls, to Thomas and Jennifer (Jones) Parkhurst. Michael graduated from Bloomer High School and went on to work at Johnson Lithograph in Eau Claire, WI. He had a passion for competitive online gaming and even through Michael’s treatments, he truly enjoyed his job and worked as long as he possibly could. He also had a special love for cats, especially his long-time companion of 21 years, Dude.

Michael is survived by his parents: Thomas and Jenni Parkhurst; maternal grandmother: Barbara Kuehl; siblings: Richard (Jennifer) Jones and Kristine (Brian) Braden; bonus mom: Didget, nieces and nephews: Zachary, Sophia and Thomas Jones, Tyler, Hunter (Harley) and Emma Steinmetz, SkyAnn and Gretta Braden, grand nieces: Lilliona and Luna Steinmetz; and other cats: Oreo, Muffin and Midnight.

He was preceded in death by his sister: Teresa Steinmetz; nephew: Dakota Steinmetz; paternal grandparents: Jesse and Louise Parkhurst; and maternal grandfathers: Sam Jones and Ronald Kuehl.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center for all their care shown to Michael. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family with arrangements.
