Michael S. Davis

Michael Scott Davis, 69, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 8, 2024. 

Mike was born on February 6, 1955 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Gerald and Natalie “LaVonne” (Melby) Davis. He served in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant. During the Cold War, Mike worked radar in Alaska and various other bases. When stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, he assisted with the discovery of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald that sank in Lake Superior.

Mike was an accomplished fly tyer and loved to teach classes to anyone who shared in his passion, especially the kids! Mike enjoyed growing up in Bloomer and all the joys that came with living on the lake. He was a very generous man, loved to support our veterans and was known for his corney dad jokes and fly fishing tales. 

Mike is survived by his son: Cory Davis, two grandchildren: Cashton and Kayetlynn, siblings: Laurie (Eugene) Buchner, Patrick (Marcia) Davis and Tom (Carol) Davis, numerous nieces and nephews, and his K9 companion: Delilah, a Black Labrador.  

 He was preceded in death by his parents: Gerald and LaVonne Davis.

 Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Moore's Funeral Home in Cabot, Arkansas and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Grace Fellowship in Cabot, Arkansas. Inurnment will follow at 1:00 PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.   

There will no longer be a service for Michael Davis originally scheduled for July 20, 2024. Next time you are out on the lake or fly fishing think of Mike and say a little prayer for his family.
