Obituary for May Horsley-Lindsley (Jeffery)

May M. Horsley-Lindsley, age 88, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Dallas Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 8, 1921 in Indian Creek, Wisconsin to Wilbur & Ethel (Nichols) Jeffery. She married Howard Horsley and after his death she married Robert G. Lindsley. In early years, she worked with new born children and doing housework. Later on, she and her husband worked on their dairy farm. One of her favorite things to do was pheasant hunting in South Dakota. She even ran a camp for hunters who came to the area. She enjoyed hunting, baking, fishing and traveling.

She is survived by her sister: June Harper from St. Paul MN; two step-sons: Merlin (Bonita) and Loren (Delores) Horsley; two step-daughters: Yvonne Peterson & Karen (Jim) Karr; special friends: Doug & Sharon Balts of Dallas WI & Virgil & Shirley Furst of Aurora SD; several step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Howard in 1993 and Robert in 2001; six brothers: Leroy, Virgil, Marvin, Aaron, Wilbur Jr. & Donald.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Friends may call from 12:00 – 1:00 on Saturday at the funeral home. There will be no visitation Friday evening. Committal Service will take place at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour, South Dakota on Monday, March 22, 2010.
