Marie Tozer

Bloomer Marie A. “Ma” Tozer, age 87, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in Bloomer at Luther Midelfort Chippewa Valley Hospital. She was born October 6, 1920 in Cook’s Valley to Fred & Margaret (Wirth) Rihn. She married Elwood “Bud” Tozer on June 12, 1940 in Minneapolis MN. Marie was the first licensed female bartender in the city of Bloomer, working for many years at the Pines and the Lamplight Inn. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching the Cubs, dancing and spending time with her family & friends.

She is survived by two sons: Bert (Kathy) Tozer of Bloomer & Gary (Barb) Tozer of Chippewa Falls; one daughter: Pamela (Larry) Haas of Tomahawk WI; four brothers: Herman (Angie)Rihn of Bloomer, Richard (Deloris) Rihn of Bloomer, Louis (Eileen) Rihn of Bloomer & Wallace (Joyce) Rihn of Serona; one sister: Marlene (Arnie) Windsor of Bloomer ; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Bud; two granddaughters & 1 great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Private burial of cremains will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 �" 8:00 on Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer & one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
