Marie S. Buchner

Marie S. Buchner, age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Maplewood in Bloomer. She was born on November 2, 1926 to Alfred and Jessie (Bailey) Balow in Eau Claire. She married Wallace Buchner on April 3, 1948 in Cornell. Marie worked for Chippewa County Dairy and Nelson (Kuss) Filter for over 20 years. Marie was a great cook and loved crafting. She collected dolls, enjoyed sewing and doing needlework.

She is survived by her husband: Wallace; children: Jeanette (Travis) Welch of Cornell and Gary (Susan) Buchner of Roseville, MN; brother: Ronald (Mary) Balow of Batavia IL; sister-in-laws: Aline Buchner, Margaret and June Balow; granddaughters: Bobbi Jo (Royce Abbuehl) Kiblen and Kelly Jo (Jay) Sippy; great grandchildren: Michael Kendall, Carter Welch and Ethan Sippy; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Laverne, Norman, Lawrence, Lester, Clarence and Earl Balow; sister: Betty Gunnes.

Funeral services will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 3:00 PM with a visitation from 12:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home before the service. Private interment in the Bloomer cemetery will be at a later date.
