Marian Hopkins

Marian H. Hopkins, age 83, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home in rural New Auburn. She was born September 13, 1925 in Mason City, Iowa to Frederick & Hazel (Grover) Frenz. She married G. Bryce Hopkins on December 27, 1943 in Holcombe WI. She worked for Textron Industries in Rockford IL for many years. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary & American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, painting, gardening, fishing, hunting, boating, playing cards, going to the casino and horse track, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter: Kaye (Michael) McGill of New Auburn; one daughter-in-law: Sharon Hopkins of Amboy IL; one brother: Charles (Tina) Frenz of New Auburn; five grandchildren: Ron (Rhonda) McGill, Robert & Guy Hopkins, Sally (Dean) Davis-Nitz & Jeannie (Tom) Hill; two step-children: Shelly & Theresa; three great-grandchild: Patrick, Abbi & Alex; five step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Bryce; one son: Robert; two sisters: Helen Postle & Ruth Littlefield.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Island Lake Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 �" 2:00 PM on Monday at the Olson Funeral Home.
