Obituary for Margaret J. Prill (Hendrikson)

Margaret J Prill, age 86, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday Jan 7 at Hetzel’s Care Center where she was a resident for the past 10 years. She was born October 2, 1925 in Running Valley to Melvin and Helga (Johnson) Hendrikson. She married her high school sweet heart Clayton Prill on May 8, 1947 at North Running Valley Lutheran Church near Colfax. Margaret sold toys via home party plan for Playhouse Toys for 15 years. She was a US Census taker in 1960 & 1970. She was a cook in the Bloomer School District for 17 years. She was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making lefse, fry cakes and rosettes. She loved needlework, especially crocheting, making hundreds of doilies, afghans, sweaters, hats & mittens. She enjoyed playing scrabble, working on crossword puzzles and tying quilts. She enjoyed entertaining and visiting friends and family and traveling.

She is survived by 3 sons: Gary (Mary Ellen) Prill, Brian (Carolyn) Prill and David (Roxanne) Prill all of Bloomer; 2 daughters: Shari (Curtis) Berg of Eau Claire and Julie (Steven) Prince of Bloomer; 3 brothers: Roger ( Marilyn) Hendrikson of Woodbury, MN, Richard (Geri) Hendrikson of Menomonie, WI and Roland ( Karen) Hendrikson of Wittenberg; 4 sisters: Carol Gustum of Sand Creek, Marlys (James) Christison of Sand Creek, Lois ( John) Fadness of Chippewa Falls and Karen ( Ronald) Halvorson of Colfax; 3 sisters-in-law: Burdean (James) Gilbert of Chippewa Falls, Mavis Arnevik of Chippewa Falls and Marliss (Larry) Schmitz of Love’s Park, IL; twelve grandchildren: Amy (Jared) Perry, Laurice (Jason) Hillman, Jonathan (Kristin) Berg, Wesley (Christy) Prince, Laura Prince, Samuel Prince, Britta Prince, Tanner Prill, Bailey Prill, Kyle (Amanda) Prill, Korey Prill, Katelyn Prill; 5 great-grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clayton; numerous cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Burial will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 on Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
