Obituary for Margaret E. Olson

Margaret E. Olson, age 95, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer. She was born August 17, 1920 in New Auburn to Glen and Mary (McCarty) Hoard. She married Gerald “Ole” Olson on January 15, 1938 in Chippewa Falls. She worked as a clerk at the Farmer’s Store in New Auburn for many years. Margaret was known as the “candy grandma”, always having candy and sweets for her grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, solving crossword puzzles, listening to music and visiting with her friends and family.

She is survived by three sons: Dennis Olson of Bloomer, Terry (Laurie) Olson of New Auburn and Kirby (Linda) Olson of Bloomer; two daughters: Bonnie Bagwell of Bloomer and Jodell “Jodi” (Alex) Cieslinski of Green Bay; numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Glen and Mary Hoard; husband: Gerald “Ole” Olson, brothers: Bradley, Robert and Gary Hoard; 2 grandchildren: Gerald “Tummer” Olson and Danny Bagwell in infancy; 3 great-grandchildren: April Olson, Ryan Calkins and a baby in infancy; 1 great-great grandson: Levi Edin;
daughters-in-law: Donna Olson and Mary Olson; son in-law: Buford Bagwell.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation before the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery.
