Life Story for Margaret Kranzfelder

We are saddened to announce the passing of a dear, sweet soul as we say goodbye to Margaret "Meg" Kranzfelder. She was born April 21,1940 in Bloomer,WI to Leonard and Alice O'Brien Kranzfelder. She died January 18, 2017 in Chicago at the age of 76. Her close knit family included four older sisters: Norine, Mary, Joanne and Kate, who along with her niece Mary Beth...preceded her in death, but always stayed close to her heart. Meg spoke lovingly of her special relationship with her parents. Her mother taught her all of life's important lessons...to always treat people well and always help those in need. She said her daddy thought all of his daughters were angels and therefore always let Mother handle any discipline. Meg survived polio when she was 11, when no one else thought she would. She loved to read and write poetry and cared about what was going on in the world around us. Meg treasured her many years working for Loyola University and the enduring friendships she made. Her strong faith was the focal point of her life. Her longtime parish of St. Gertrudes...its wonderful people and close relationships she formed...meant the world to her. Her family is grateful for all they've done to help. Meg is survived by her nieces Maureen, Joanie, Renee and Alice...and her nephews Mike, Benjie, Paul, Bart and John. Graveside services will be at the North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM.
