M. Doug North

Merton Douglas “Doug” North, age 91, passed away on Thursday May 8, 2014 at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center. He was born on April 29, 1923 in New Auburn to Arthur and Kittie (Cole) North. He married Lois Lindblad on August 19, 1944 in New Auburn. Doug owned and operated North Star Implement in New Auburn from 1955 – 2007. He was a member of 7th Day Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with tractors and machinery, restoring antique tractors and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Lois; children: Jim (Karen) North, Robert (Inez) North, Bonnie (John) Lueck and Kathleen (Art) Harelstad; brother: Norris “Ike” (Ramona) North; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Kittie; brothers: Rodney, Duane, and Warren North

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Seventh Day Baptist Church in New Auburn with a visitation one hour before the services at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
