Lucille “Lucy” H. Meier , age 86, of Bloomer Wisconsin passed away at Our House in Chippewa Falls on Sunday, November 17, 2019. She was born in Grand Forks ND on August 26, 1933 to Joseph and Mary (Renner) Jorgenson. She married Thorlough Meier on September 12, 1953 and together they raised seven daughters. Lucy was a remarkable card player and always seemed to hold the winning hand, especially when playing bridge. She spent her free time generously volunteering for the church and community, as well as traveling, golfing and vacationing at their cabin on Ham Lake. Family was essential to Lucy: above all, she loved spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: Thorlough of Bloomer; daughters: Diane (Duke) Maurer of Belen NM, Margaret (Edward) Vargas of Bowie MD, Amy (Bob) Siesennop of Oconomowoc WI, Elizabeth (Peter) Gust of Baraboo WI, Kate (Melvin) Jopson of Rochester NY, Kristine (Joel) Haffely of Shoreview MN and Nancy (Michael) Thompson of Blaine MN; sister: Sister Dorothy Jorgenson C.S.J.; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Mary Jorgenson; siblings: Joseph Jorgenson, Rosalind Myerchin, Raymond Jorgenson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer with a visitation two hours before the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
