Lucille "Lucy" Kuhn

Lucille “Lucy” E. Kuhn, age 82, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. She was born December 19, 1928 in Cornell WI to Herman & Eunice (Ensign) Genrich. She married the love of her life, Jack Kuhn in Chippewa Falls on October 25, 1947. She worked as a nurse’s assistant at the Bloomer hospital and enjoyed working with new mothers and babies in the nursery. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, playing cards, reading, fishing, camping, cooking, decorating her home, going to thrift sales. She loved traveling with Jack, spending their summers at Moon Lake in Wisconsin and winters in the sun of Arizona. In her last few years, she entertained the residents and guests at Hetzel Care Center with her singing. Lucy always had a kind word for everyone she met and will be missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by two sons: Timothy (Lori Clark) Kuhn of Bloomer and Thomas (Theresa) Kuhn of Eau Claire; three daughters: Terry (Dennis) Swartz of Bloomer, Janie (Robert) Jacobson of Bloomer and Jackie (Thomas) Ewings of Bloomer; one brother: Herman (Inez) Genrich of Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Jack.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Pastor Joel Olsen officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Spooner Veteran’s Memorial. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
