Lucille Loew

Lucille M. Loew, age 92, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Eau Claire, WI. She was born September 22, 1917 in Prairie Farm, WI to Lynn & Pauline (Flater) Thorp. In 1932 she began living with her sister and her husband, Gib & Viola Anderl. She attended schools in Barron County and in Bloomer. Lucille married Eugene Klund in 1957 and after his death, she married Arnold Loew in 1973. She worked as a waitress and housekeeper at The Hotel in Bloomer, at Anderl’s Clover Farm Store and Root Beer Stand, the Eau Claire Defense Plant during WWII and at Burtons Ben Franklin in Bloomer for 25 years until her retirement. She loved to work with flowers, do embroidery, work puzzles (both jigsaw and find-a-word) and spend time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Eugene & Arnold; 2 brothers: Truman and Harold Thorp; five sisters: Viola Anderl, Elda Johnson, Thelma Johnson, Evelyn Thorp and one stillborn.

She is survived by three sisters: Dolores (Robert) Dietert of Cameron WI, Lorraine Hoff of Clayton WI and Norma Katherine of Turtle Lake, WI; two stepchildren: Diane (Tom) Goettl of Bloomer and Duane (Wendy) Loew of Bloomer; three nieces she lived with: Shirley Rauscher, Donna Boos & Peggy (Peter) Prince; numerous other nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Rev. Bruce Rimmereid officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
