Lorraine Alice Coaty (Malone)

June 26, 1930 — August 28, 2022

Lorraine A. Coaty, age 92, went home to Jesus on August 28, 2022, at her home in Chetek, WI.

Lorraine was born on June 26, 1930, in the Town of Maple Grove, Barron County to John and Elma (Campbell) Malone. She attended Barron High School and graduated with the Class of 1948. Lorraine went on to further her education at the Normal School Teachers College in Rice Lake where she met the love of her life. On November 21, 1950, Lorraine married Neil Coaty in Lindstrom, MN and have been sharing their life for 72 years. Together they settled in Chetek and raised a family in same home they have lived at for over 65 years. Lorraine had a strong faith and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her 20’s. She enjoyed bowling with her husband and friends, playing the organ and spending time with her family.


Lorraine is survived by her husband: Neil Coaty, children: Daniel (Carol) Coaty of Klamath Falls, OR, Michael (Lynette) Coaty of Radisson, WI and Julie (Dennis) Young of Rice Lake, WI; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Elma Malone; brothers: Harold Malone, Glenn Malone and Wilber Malone; and sisters: Jeanette Malone, Dorothy Sundsmo and Delorice Bader.

Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am, on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Faith Baptist Church in Chetek. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am, on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. Online condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
