Obituary for Leota M. Davis

Leota Davis, age 86, passed away at her home on Friday July 8, 2011. She was born on September 15, 1924 to Alvin and Zola (Malosh) Worthington in Ontario WI. She married George Davis on November 28, 1944 in Bloomer Wisconsin. She was a domestic engineer, taking care of her husband and eleven children as well as a nurses aid at the Bloomer Hospital. Leota was a jackie of all trades and enjoyed helping people. She loved flowers, gardening, baking, knitting, and watching the birds. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Rodney (Carol) Davis, Leonard (Sheila Knipfer) Davis, Randy (Josie) Davis, Everett Davis, Rick (Karen) Davis, Bill (Lynn Hanson) Davis; daughters: Nancy Davis, Peggy (Donald) Bishop, Vicki (Rhett) Meyer: brothers: Everett (Dorothy) Worthington, Alvin Worthington, Lyle (Corrine) Worthington, Carl Worthington; sisters: Leila Haller, Ester Peterson: 28 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren 1 great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband George; sons: Roger, infant George; grandson: Jason Sorenson; brothers: Vernon and Bernard Worthington; sisters: Vesta Klatt, Sherrill Dixon; sister in-law: Juanita Worthington.

There will be a visitation from 4:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Funeral services will be held at Olson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Island Lake Cemetery following the service.
