Bloomer

Leo A. Roush Sr., age 89, passed away on January 10, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Chippewa Valley.

Leo was born on February 21, 1934 to Robert R. Sr. and Agatha (Ahrendt) Roush. On June 4, 1955, Leo married Mable Bearss in Trenton, Michigan. Leo enjoyed being a farmer but he absolutely loved spending time with family, the bigger the gathering the happier he was. He never hesitated to take his grandkids hunting or fishing. Leo spent most of the time casting poles, baiting lines, and having to constantly remind the kids that if the bait wasn't in the water, it was hard to catch a fish. Grandpa loved to drive the countryside and check out how the corn and soybeans were looking and see the cattle and horses grazing in the fields. You could always find him and grandma at the Moose Lodge on Thursday evenings. When grandpa had some spare time you could find him reading a good western or watching a western on TV.

Leo is survived by his children:  Leo (Juleen) Roush Jr. of Atwater MN, Virginia Fox of Hutchinson MN, Betty (Perry) Rettig of Curtiss WI, Victoria (Ricky) Krueger of Bloomer and Randall (Robyn) Roush of Glencoe MN; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Larry (Gloria) Roush of Long Prairie MN and Leonard (Ester) Roush of Worth MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Mabel in 2022; and five brothers: Glen, Robert Jr., Alfred Sr., Francis and Leslie Roush.

Burial with military honors will be held at a later date at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family. Online Condolences may be expressed at olsonfunerealhomebloomer.com
