Obituary for Leila M Haller (Worthington)

Leila M. Haller, age 76, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Barron Care and Rehabilitation. She was born June 30, 1936 in Chetek WI to Alvin and Zola (Malosh) Worthington. She married Russell Haller on August 12, 1954 in Island Lake. Leila worked as a cook at the Lake House Inn, The Matador, The Renegade and numerous other restaurants. She was a member of Island Lake Church of Christ, the Golden Girls, the Red Hat Society and the Cootiettes. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cooking, baking, and decorating cakes. She was a huge sports fan, especially the Packers, and regularly attended and cheered at her children and grandchildren’s games.

She is survived by two sons: Kevin (Barbara) Haller of Barron, Christopher (friend: Julie) Haller of New Auburn; two daughters: Sharon (Thomas) Frank of Bruce, and Kimberly (Dale) Hyland of New Richmond; four brothers: Everett (Dorothy) Worthington of Chippewa Falls, Alvin (Chris)Worthington of Rockford IL, Lyle (Corrine) Worthington of New Auburn and Carl Worthington of Osceola WI; one sister: Esther Peterson of Galesville WI, three daughters-in-law: Patricia Becker, Sue Haller and Melissa Haller; one son-in-law: Fred Harrison; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Russell; two daughters: Shirley Haller and Carol Harrison; two sons: Robert and Russell Haller; one daughter-in-law: Teri Haller; three sisters: Leota Davis, Vesta Klatt and Sherrill Dixon; two brothers: Vernon and Bernard Worthington; one great-grandson: Jaden Frank.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Seventh Day Baptist Church in New Auburn. Interment will be in Island Lake Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
