Obituary for LaVerne J. Webb

LaVerne J. Webb, age 93, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at the Atrium in Bloomer on Thursday, May 10, 2018. She was born on December 22, 1924 to Nicholas and Alice (Bitter) Selzener. She married the love of her life George Webb on April 7, 1948. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage together with a party at the Atrium this last April. LaVerne had a humble, gentle, loving soul with a priceless smile. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She was a great cook and loved to make homemade bread, baking several loaves a week for years on end. She was a city girl and married a farmer. She adjusted quickly and never complained about the hard work of farm life and was a dedicated, hardworking farmwife day in and day out. She had a love for music her whole life. As a young woman she sang with her 4 sisters as the Sunshine Sisters as well as the church choir for many years. She enjoyed all the genres of music, always listening to the radio and singing along with her family.
She is survived by husband: George; sons: David (Teresa) Webb of St. Croix Falls, and Roger Webb of Bloomer; daughter: Diane (James) Schindler Chippewa Falls; daughters in-law: Dorothy Webb of Blaine MN, Peggy Webb-Kingston NY, Nora Webb of CA, Cindy Webb of Bloomer, Lorraine (Charlie) Rubenzer of Bloomer; son in-law: Rick Davis of Bloomer; sister: Ann Shipman of Chippewa Falls 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in-law; children: Alan Webb, Wayne Webb, Julie (Ron) Webb-Kysilko, and Karen Davis; sisters: Genevieve Custer, Violet Palmer, Vivian Main
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation from 11:00-1:00 before the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com.
